I bought this for my 1st grader. It’s pretty large. I knew it was meant for adults but I figured I’d try it out anyways. I prep the stainless steal portion of it by adding boiling water. Then I add his warm food. It does not stay warm in time for lunch. Did I mention it’s huge. This container is so large that it takes up all the space in his lunch box. No room left in the lunch box for snacks (cheese, banana, juice box, chips). I will use it for just certain lunches. I’ve found smaller (kids) containers but they are too small. I will continue to look for a medium container. Not bad but I don’t use the bottom to warm lunch up. Got these for kids. It’s got enough room for their size lunch. Unfortunately the lid is a bit fiddly but it’s got a good seal. No room to put an ice pack and it’s a bit big for kids pack packs if you want it to stay flat so contents tend to move around a bitI bought this for my son to use at school. Its a nice color combination and pretty sturdy. Here are my pro and cons:Pro - sturdy enough for school useGreat color combinationKeeps foor fairly warm/coldCons - the clips aren't as strong once you wash it often in the dishwasher so I recommend hand washing. The bottom container is oddly deeper than the metal container. Not sure why. Must be a design feature that I haven't discovered yet.The rubber bumpers on the lid can come off easily if you wash too hard.Overall, its a decent lunch container if you don't use it purposely for hot food. My son complained that his food was "room temperature", so don't expect the hot food you put in the morning to remain "hot" in the afternoon. Otherwise, no leaks once it's closed tightly but be aware of food that can fall into the compartments.I so wanted to love this product after reading so many reviews that it was leak proof. Today I tried it and definitely the water slips out. I will continue using it and trying it to know if it maintains the food warm even without water.I bought this for my kid as she entered Kindergarten. The design is great and it is very easy to use and wash. It was fine for a while, however, my five year old is not so careful with her things, so two of the four sides were broken off by November. It still seals and can serve as our backup, but I purchased another bento style lunchbox from another vendor to replace this. I think this would be great for someone who is a bit older and can be more careful with it.I purchased this lunch container for my kiddo because Kindergartners aren't allowed glass lunch containers. This lunch box is the perfect size to fit inside his "Wildkin Kids Insulated Lunch Box" with room to spare for a small juice box and silverware. The portioned sections are just right to pack a well balance and healthy lunch but it's just not as hefty as I was hoping for. In my opinion the plastic base is a bit flimsy and the stainless steel insert is thin. It does close fairly easily for my 5 year old but the compartments will leak into one another. Additionally, the channel that the silicone gasket fit into are difficult to clean as are the areas around the plastic locking clips. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who packs foods with sauces or seasonings as they will leak into each other. It would be fine for sandwiches or dry foods. My son likes hot lunches so I make him tater tots or fries and meatballs or fish sticks or Turkey breast. He likes everything at the right temperate. This box works really well. I love the two compartments. It’s easy to use and clean and food stays warm.It doesn't leak between compartments and totally keep food separately. Additionally, I bought lava rocks to help to keep food warm. It's perfect.
